Why do you need a Vehicle Spill Kit?

DID YOU KNOW...  Under section 142 of the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, it is an offence to pollute.  Additionally, section 116 of the POEO Act makes it an offence to wilfully or negligently cause any substance to leak, spill or otherwise escape in a manner that harms or is likely to harm the environment.

Other environment protection legislation states that "a person must not undertake an activity that pollutes, or might pollute, the environment unless the person takes all reasonable and practicable measures to prevent or minimise any resulting environmental harm".

The thought of prosecution is frightening offences can carry "maximum penalties of $5 million for corporations and $1 million and/or 7 years imprisonment for individuals" (POEO Act).
